Junior State of America (JSA)/Speech and Debate
JSA-Debate Club gives students a voice. The club centers around lively debates and a free exchange of ideas about current events and issues. The club's mission is to encourage civil discourse among students in preparation for lifelong citizenship in their communities and active leadership in a democratic society. Everyone's opinions and perspectives are welcome and respected. In addition to student-led, debate-centered club meetings, activities include three annual conventions, one of which is a mock congress held at the state capitol where students debate and attempt to pass legislation written by JSA students.
