American Indian Education Program

The American Indian Education Program of Marysville Joint Unified School
District is designed to supplement and enhance the educational experience of American
Indian children in grades K-12. The program serves Indian students in school districts in
both Yuba County and Sutter County.

Some of the activities offered to students through the Program include:
 1. Academic Tutoring in Math and English Language Arts
 2. American Indian craft classes
 3. American Indian dance classes
 4. American Indian drum practice
 5. Classroom presentations
 6. School-wide presentations
 7. Field trips
 8. Quarterly newscard
 9. Pow Wow, special events and other Cultural workshops
10. Help in choosing a college or other continuing education program
11. Help in finding financial aid for college
12. Referral service for other Indian activities and events
13. Help with researching Tribal Ancestry
14. High School Units in Fine Arts or Electives
 
If your child is of American Indian decent, they may be qualified to be enrolled in
the Program. If you do not know if your child qualifies for our Program, but feel as
though they might, our staff will assist you in securing your documentation.

Olivehurst Avenue, on the Ella Elementary School Campus in Olivehurst. Our office is
at the farside of the campus-corner of 8th and Olivehurst Avenues. Our hours are from
8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
